Numismatics is the study and collection of currency, including coins, tokens, paper money and related objects. It is an ancillary to history that seeks to identify the place, date, and Government of issue so that the inscriptions, images and other features of the coins can be used to determine the political, economic, social and cultural history. For archaeologists, coins are the most consistently datable evidences.

Debabrata started collecting with coins, paper money and stamps, when he was only eight years old. He saw some old coins and ornaments that aroused his interest in old things. Little did he knew then that this hobby could turn in to an inseparable part of his life. As he began to collect these age old coins, his parents, family, friends and relatives provided him with all the help they could. Later on he connected to other collectors across the glove through different social media platforms and through pan-India exhibitions. Today his vast collection includes rare coins of Gupta Dynasty, Naga Dynasty, Mughal period, British India, many princely states to modern India post independent commemorative coins and very rare temple tokens, ancient bills, army medals, foreign currencies, antique weapons & items, which gets bigger every day.
